Designed to engage our diverse camp population, Hayground's Athletics program offers a wide breadth of competitive and non-competitive activities.  Traditional team sports are complemented by Hayground's spin on favorite field and childhood games--in our more humane version of dodgeball, for instance, the goal is to rescue captured teammates.

For our youngest campers, the Mini-Sports program offers basic athletic skills and a healthy introduction to participating in games with peers. Our dedicated Gymnastics coach is a specialist in working with young children, and leads climbing wall workshops for campers six and up. Older campers can participate in competitive events such as the Baseball World Series, Basketball Playoffs, and the Soccer World Cup, all culminating events in a short season of skill-based clinics and team play.

Hayground makes a special effort to encourage girls to take an active part in athletics. The program's co-director, Michelle Cottrell, heads up an inspiring team of female sports counselors to offer skills clinics and team play in both single-sex and co-ed environments.
