Clothing: Campers should wear comfortable shoes, shorts and t-shirts to camp each day. All clothing, shoes, and equipment should be labeled with the camper’s first and last names. In addition, you’ll need:
- Bathing Suit
- Sneakers or closed toed shoes ( for sports or woodshop )
- Flip-flops or Water Shoes (optional)
Sunscreen: Parents should apply sunscreen to campers before arriving each day. Every camper must bring their own sunscreen, labeled with their first and last names. The sunscreen in their cubbies will be used during the day to refresh the morning application from home. Sunscreen cannot be shared among campers due to possible skin allergies.
Lunch: Campers should bring a packed lunch to camp each day, labeled with their first and last names. Lunches are kept in a refrigerator in the camper’s room. For time and safety reasons, we request that parents do not pack lunches that require heating, or contain nuts. Campers will be given snacks, juice and water throughout the day.
3 & 4 Year-old Campers: In addition to the above items, 3 and 4 year-old campers must bring an extra change of clothing in a labeled bag to leave at camp.
Optional Items: Beyond the above items, Hayground provides everything campers need to participate in the daily program, including all sports equipment. You may want to bring, as desired or needed:
- Water Bottle
- Swim Goggles, Ear Plugs, Swimmies
What NOT To Bring: Because camp is a busy place where campers are actively engaged in the daily program, we ask that campers do not bring handheld video games, iPods/MP3’s, toys, or money to camp. These items are easily lost, and are a distraction from the activities offered. Water guns and other toy guns or weapons of any kind are not allowed at camp.
Cell Phones: There are no cell phones allowed at Hayground Camp. If your child needs to make a phone call, they can do so at the camp office. If you need to reach your child, you can call the camp office.
Hayground Totes & T-Shirts: All campers will receive a free Hayground Camp tote bag at the beginning of camp. Camp T-shirts and sweatshirts will be available for purchase throughout the summer.
